 * Given the nature of gourmet food items, we generally do not accept returns on perishable goods unless they are damaged or defective upon arrival.

2.2 Damaged or Defective Items:
 * If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us immediately (within 48 hours of delivery).
 * Please provide your order number and clear photos of the damaged or defective item(s) and the packaging.
 * We will assess the situation and, at our discretion, offer a replacement, store credit, or a full refund. We may require the damaged item to be returned.

2.3 Refunds (for eligible returns):
 * Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
 * If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 7-10 business days.
 * Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping may be deducted from your refund.

3. Chocolate Shipment Policy (Specific to Perishable Chocolates)
At The Gourmet Palace, we take special care to ensure our exquisite chocolates arrive in perfect condition, especially during warmer temperatures.
3.1 Temperature Control:
 * During warmer months (typically April through October, or whenever temperatures exceed 70°F/21°C at either origin or destination), all chocolate shipments will be shipped with thermal packaging and ice packs.
 * We may also recommend or require expedited shipping options for chocolate orders during these periods to minimize transit time and prevent melting. This will be communicated at checkout.
3.2 Shipping Days for Chocolates:
 * To prevent chocolates from sitting in transit over weekends, chocolate orders are typically shipped Monday through Wednesday for standard shipping.
 * For expedited or overnight shipping, orders may ship later in the week to ensure delivery before the weekend.
3.3 Delivery and Receipt:
 * We strongly recommend that someone is available to receive chocolate shipments upon delivery to prevent them from sitting outside in warm conditions.
 * The Gourmet Palace is not responsible for melted chocolates if the package is left unattended for an extended period after delivery.
 * Please unpack and refrigerate or store chocolates in a cool, dry place immediately upon arrival.
3.4 Melting During Transit:
 * While we take extensive precautions, slight softening or blooming (a whitish film on the chocolate caused by temperature fluctuations) can occasionally occur, especially in extreme heat. This does not affect the quality or taste of the chocolate.
 * If chocolates arrive significantly melted or damaged due to our packaging or shipping error, please refer to our Return Policy (Section 2.2) and contact us immediately with photos.
